Privacy Policy

Effective date: Jan 06, 2026

1. Who we are

Privacy.Email is an email service that lets you create and use an email account without providing personal information.

2. What this policy covers

This policy explains what we collect and how we handle it when you use:

  • Our website
  • Your mailbox and webmail interface
  • Account upgrades and billing
  • Support and abuse reporting channels

3. What we collect

3.1 Account data

  • Required: your username, password (stored as a hash), and mailbox settings needed to operate your account.
  • Optional: anything you choose to send to support.

3.2 Email content

We store the emails you send and receive so the service can work. This includes message content, headers, attachments, and standard delivery metadata that exists inside the email itself (for example: sender, recipient, subject, dates, and routing headers included by mail servers).

3.3 Payments and cryptocurrency transactions

We accept cryptocurrency for paid account upgrades. When you make a payment, we store billing-related details such as:

  • Invoice ID and account username
  • Currency/network used (for example: BTC, XMR, etc.)
  • Deposit address and transaction ID / hash
  • Amount, timestamps, and payment status (paid/partial/expired/refunded if applicable)

We retain cryptocurrency transaction details indefinitely for accounting, fraud prevention, dispute handling, and to keep a consistent record of upgrades applied to accounts.

3.4 IP addresses and logs

We do not intentionally store IP address logs tied to your account activity. Like any internet service, IP addresses may be processed in memory to deliver traffic to you, protect the service, and mitigate abuse, but we aim to avoid retaining them as part of normal operations.

3.5 Cookies

We use cookies that are necessary for login sessions and basic site functionality. We do not use advertising cookies.

4. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain the service (mail delivery, login sessions, mailbox functions)
  • Process upgrades and apply paid features
  • Prevent abuse, spam, and attacks against the service
  • Respond to support requests
  • Fix bugs and improve reliability

5. Sharing and third parties

We do not sell your data.

We do not share your personal information with third parties for marketing or advertising.

We may rely on infrastructure providers (for example: hosting, bandwidth, DDoS protection, and email delivery components). These providers may process limited data as needed to operate the service.

6. Law enforcement and legal requests

If we receive a legal request, we:

  • Review it for validity and scope (we do not respond to informal requests)
  • Provide only what we are legally required to provide
  • Limit disclosure to the minimum data available

Because we minimize data collection (including not intentionally keeping IP activity logs), we may not have the specific information requested.

Note: upgrade and billing records (including crypto transaction details) may still exist and may be disclosable if legally compelled.

We may notify affected users about requests when we believe it is lawful and safe to do so.

7. Data retention

  • Mailbox data: kept until you delete it or your account is removed.
  • Billing records: cryptocurrency transaction details are retained indefinitely (see Section 3.3).
  • Abuse and security: if an account is used for abuse, we may take action including suspension or deletion. Limited records related to security incidents may be retained to protect the service.
  • Backups: deleted data may remain in backups for a limited time until backups are rotated.

8. Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect the service (for example: access controls, encryption where applicable, and hardening). No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your choices

  • You can delete emails from your mailbox at any time.
  • Account deletion: only upgraded (paid) accounts can delete their account.
  • If you contact support, you can choose how much information you share.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If changes are significant, we will post an updated effective date on this page.

11. Contact
