No email service is perfectly private. Providers can read your messages. We don't pretend otherwise. Our anonymous email keeps things to a minimum with no ad tracking, minimal logs, and clear plain English policies on how we store and handle your data.
Create Your Email Account
Privacy.Email is a private email service for people who want clear terms and do not want to be lied to. You can create an account anonymously over Tor. We are open about what we collect and what we cannot protect you from. If you use any hosted mail provider, including us, the people running that server can read incoming and outgoing mail. That is how email works. If you want an honest service without false claims, this is for you.
We keep tracking and data collection to a minimum, but privacy is a shared effort. We strongly recommend using the Tor Browser and, if possible, a trusted VPN provider. Never assume the emails you send or receive are completely secret. Any email provider, including us, always has technical ways to read the contents of your messages. For sensitive information, use end-to-end encryption such as GPG before you send it.
Creating an account is free and lets you receive email from any service. You can email other Privacy.Email users for free, but to send email to the rest of the internet you need to upgrade your account. This helps deter spam and funds ongoing development. Registration only asks for a username and password. No real name, phone number, or recovery email is required. If you upgrade, you provide only the payment details needed to process the upgrade and nothing more.
We keep logs to an absolute minimum. When you create an account or sign in, we store your username and a securely hashed password. We do not store IP addresses, user agents, or request headers. We respond to lawful requests from authorities, and any action we take depends on the issue and the jurisdiction. You can read our legal and abuse handeling here or submit a request here.
Start free. Upgrade only if you need to send mail outside Privacy.Email or want to support our service.

To put it simply, your emails are stored on our servers, and in theory we could read what you send and receive if we really wanted to. This is true for every email provider, no matter what they claim.
We don't have any system in place to log IP addresses or device details like user agents. That said, you should never blindly trust what any service claims, including ours, and you should always use Tor.
We do not scan or read your emails for any reason, and we do not run any automated software to mine or analyze your data.
Your emails are stored on encrypted servers, and when you send or receive messages they're protected in transit with TLS. However, for anything truly sensitive, you should encrypt it yourself with external tools like GPG before sending.
You can create as many accounts as you like. We also support plus-address aliases if you want multiple addresses in the same inbox. Just use addresses like: username+alias@privacy.email.
We only support Monero. In our view, it's the only true privacy cryptocurrency. The rest are basically surveillance honeypots and we have no interest in supporting them.
We only suspend accounts in clear, serious cases. This includes things like blackmail, CSAM, fraud, or other criminal activity, and obvious spam or bulk mailing.
In cases involving crime, we will only act if we have a credible report or evidence, which can include a report from law enforcement.
If you or a law enforcement agency has evidence that an account is involved in criminal activity, please report it to support@privacy.email.
If there is an immediate threat to someone's life or safety, contact law enforcement first.
We designed this service to work specifically in the Tor Browser with JavaScript disabled. We strongly recommend using it that way. Even though we say we do not log your IP address, you should never blindly trust what any service claims about logging.

If you’d like to upgrade your account so you can send emails to external addresses, you can do so by paying with Monero (XMR). Our service is built around stron…
