Welcome to Privacy.Email. By using this service, you agree to the following terms. We have written this document in plain English to be transparent and realistic about what we can and cannot provide.
Email is not a secure communication system. No matter what any provider claims, email can always be read by the provider. This applies to us, and it applies to every other service. If you require true end-to-end security, you should use proper encryption tools such as PGP or choose an open source messaging service that is specifically designed for secure communication.
We do not market illusions of bulletproof secure email. We are upfront: we can technically access your email if compelled or in cases of abuse. The same is true of Gmail, ProtonMail, or anyone else, whether they admit it or not.
We do not log your IP addresses when you access this service, and we only keep the minimum technical data required to operate the system. That said, you should never blindly trust what any online service claims. If protecting your identity is important to you, we strongly recommend using Tor or a VPN in addition to this service.
You may not use this service for spam, harassment, fraud, phishing, child exploitation, terrorism, or any other activity that causes harm.
If we detect or receive credible reports of abuse, we may suspend or terminate your account.
This service operates under Panamanian law. We will only comply with valid legal orders issued by Panamanian authorities. Requests from foreign governments or agencies will be ignored unless they are formally processed through Panama's legal system. The only exception is if there is an immediate and credible threat to human life or safety, such as violent crime or child exploitation, in which case we reserve the right to take voluntary action, including account suspension or cooperation with appropriate parties. Where we are not legally prohibited from doing so, we will publish transparency reports disclosing the number and type of requests we receive.
We do our best to keep the service running smoothly and reliably, but no online service can guarantee perfection. Emails may occasionally be delayed, lost, or inaccessible due to technical issues beyond our control. While we take care to protect your account, we cannot be held responsible for problems such as data loss, service interruptions, or misuse of the service by others. By using this service, you accept that it is provided “as is” and that some risks are inherent to email as a technology.
We are committed to honesty rather than marketing slogans. We will never claim that your emails are fully secure or unreadable, because they are not. We will never claim that your metadata is invisible, because it is not. We will always tell you the truth, even if it is uncomfortable: email is inherently insecure.
We may terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms or for operational, legal, or security reasons.
If you require strong privacy, do not rely on any single service provider, including us. Always use additional protections such as encryption, VPNs, or Tor.
